How to make a WhatsApp link

  1. Pick the country code and type the WhatsApp number, without the country code.
  2. Write the message people should send you, for example “Hi, I would like the price list”. It is optional.
  3. Copy the link, or open it to test it. A QR code for the same link is made below it.

What a WhatsApp link looks like

WhatsApp’s own click-to-chat links have the form https://wa.me/919876543210. That is the full international number: the country code, then the number, with no plus sign, no spaces and no leading zeros. To pre-fill a message, add ?text= and the message with its special characters encoded, like ?text=Hi%2C%20I%20need%20help. This tool does the encoding for you.

Anyone who taps the link on a phone with WhatsApp opens a chat with your number and your message ready to send. On a computer it opens WhatsApp Web or the desktop app.

Is this WhatsApp link generator free?
Yes. It is free, there is no sign-up and no limit on how many links you make.
Do you store my phone number or message?
No. The link and the QR code are made in your own browser. The number and the message are not sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp’s short click-to-chat link. wa.me/ followed by a full phone number opens a chat with that number. WhatsApp also supports the longer api.whatsapp.com/send form; both do the same thing.
How should I type the number?
Choose the country code in the first box and type the rest of the number in the second, with no plus sign. Spaces, dashes and a leading zero are removed for you. For an Indian number, choose +91 and type the ten digits.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business and the WhatsApp Business API?
Yes. A click-to-chat link works for any number that is registered on WhatsApp, including the WhatsApp Business app and numbers on the WhatsApp Business API.
Can I make a link to a WhatsApp group?
Not with this tool. A group uses a different kind of invite link that you copy from the group’s own settings in WhatsApp.
