Your privacy rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us about your personal data. There is no fee.
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and who we shared it with;
- correct or complete data that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it, such as invoices;
- withdraw a consent you gave, such as offers by email or WhatsApp;
- act through someone you nominate if you die or cannot act;
- look into a complaint.
We acknowledge within 48 hours and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India; the law asks you to contact our Grievance Officer first. This is about data VartaAPI holds as the Data Fiduciary: our own website, sign-ups and account holders. If you are a customer of a business that uses VartaAPI to message you, ask that business; we handle your data only on its instructions.
